I use this recreational space to walk my dogs daily and train for various races I participate in. I think it would be a tragedy to lose recreational space and also feel we should support local independent businesses. Southport is running the risk of losing its identity, we should be supporting independent businesses and encouraging more exercise on public recreational ground.

The Victoria gym has been a significant part of the community for many years. It's only fair that they are granted getting the car park that they deserve.

Local businesses should be supported by their local council, not put under unnecessary pressure from a chain competitor being given privileges that they themselves have previously been denied.

Planning laws are in place to protect people and their built environment, not to put local businesses at a distinct disadvantage
