Why this petition matters

Started by Grant Robertson

Since the arrival of the Sia badge into the industry the security industry has not only became expensive to become a licenced steward but has became underpaid. The job role has become more and more challenging with knife crime, gun crime and drug use all sky rocketing but with every pub club and licensed establishments looking to pay as little as possible and so many competing contractors it makes it very unappealing for experienced stewards to continue in the industry and if we do then we are faced with another obstical working with (shirt fillers) my call is to raise the minimum wage for licensed stewards to 20ph in the aim we have quality retainment within the industry and I would  also like to see safety uniform made mandatory by employers eg. Stab proof vests. If you think as an employer this is unreasonable then think of the situations we deal with so that you don't have to medical emergencys, abuse verbal and physical,. We are also the face of your company the first faces your customer encounters and the last as they leave a good security team is not just good from a safety aspect but for customer retention and customer service..... Come on guys £10ph is ridiculous when McDonald's workers are paid £9ph upwards.....
