The chance of becoming a victim of violent or property crime is 1 in 36. West Jordan has a crime rate that is higher than 83% of the state’s cities and towns. Everyone has a right to feel protected and safe in their home city. My idea was to install more security cameras in parks, neighborhoods and public places. Studies show that having a surveillance camera system results in a 50% reduction in a crime.
