Tear down and rebuild the SEC
Tear down and rebuild the SEC
For years the securities and exchange commission has only looked out for the top 1% of america. They knowingly allow hedge funds and market makers to manipulate the market at expense for the average investor. Recents events have shown us that no matter what the 1% will be protected. Robinhood, Webull and other brokers prevented retail traders from buying shares of GameStop (GME) and other securities on Thursday 01/27 while hedge funds could continue to buy and sell back and forth causing the stock price to plummet. While this has been occurring the SEC is not looking into the market manipulation of said hedge funds and brokers but instead investigating retail investors and the reddit sub wallstreetbets. This is far from the first time the SEC has failed to do its job (2008). In order to bring back the integrity of the US financial institution the SEC needs to be dismantled and rebuilt.
