Presently in initial public offer of stocks , if oversubscribed only draw is taken place in that category . Most of the people not get allotment , only few got minimum lot allotment.
Nowadays stocks are digitalized , so single share of any listed company can be bought or sold in digital platforms.
While oversubscribtion, allotment of minimum single share to be allocated for each bidder of that gatogorey and based on bids proportional allotment can be made without fraction.
This will ensure fair treatment of all bidders and avoid malpractice. Also create interest to participate in IPO.
