Corinne Best the niece of football legend George Best is currently in a low secure mental health unit in Bury, Manchester. She has been here for six months. Suffering from borderline personality disorder and aspergers. Her family home is in Devon and her parents have had to travel the 300 mile journey to Visit her and attend meetings.
recently her stepdad Ian Best suffered a cardiac arrest whilst in Manchester to attend a meeting and two weeks later when we were due to attend the next meeting Ian had another seven shocks to his heart. The doctors have put this down to stress and we are no longer able to visit Corinne and Ian has been told he has heart failure so unless she is moved closer she may never see him again or her elderly grandmother who is also very ill. She also misses her horses who are great therapy for her.
Doctors agree that being so far from home is not helping Corinne and the environment is also not suitable for a person with aspergers as it is very noisy and sometimes agressive.
please help us get Corinne into a unit closer to home.
