Make Palbociclib, an effective secondary breast cancer drug, available on the NHS

I have secondary breast cancer, am 50 years old, have two dependent children and do loads of voluntary work and live life to the full. I am currently having hormone therapy to limit the cancer which is incurable.
Palbociclib is a new drug which makes the current hormone treatment work for on average 20 months longer. This postpones the need for chemotherapy and all the horrendous side effects that come with that.
NICE have provisionally said that Palbociclib can not be available on the NHS but it is still up for consultation. NICE has said it is too expensive and the evidence is not strong enough about how it increases the survival rate. There is though accepted evidence that it delays the need for chemo for 20 months. It is used across Europe and the USA and is also licensed and used by private patients in the UK.
This petition requests that NICE's final decision is made to allow this drug which costs £3,000 per month per patient to be funded on the NHS.
