Maddy Dadson started this petition to SECRETARY OF STATE FOR EDUCATION

People who have learning disabilities or difficulties such as dyslexia should not be prevented for achieving hight academic grades because they cannot spell.

For example, your ability to spell does not have any bearing on whether you have a great understanding of history. So, if you have fantastic knowledge, you should not be prevented for achieving an "A" in your exams because you lost valuable marks due to spelling.

This problem can become even more significant in higher education. Lossing out on a first call degree can be harmful to a person career, and no one should have their career harmed because of a disability they were born with.

Your ability to spell does not stop you from being an amazing musician, Paramedic, or mathematician so why should it affect your grades?

If you have ever taken an exam you will know how important every signal mark is and you should not lose out on these marks through no fault of your own.

Please sign this petition and ask the Government to put a stop to spelling affecting people's grades, confidence, and careers.
