Petitioning SECRETARY OF STATE FOR COMMUNITIES AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT, GREG CLARK

LEAVE GREEN FIELDS OF TWO TREES SCHOOL ALONE

SAVE THE GREEN FIELDS AT THE FORMER TWO TREES SPORTS FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS
Haughton Green is a village with just one narrow through road, our village is now developed to its maximum size, already residents face a minimum 40 minute wait sitting in traffic just to leave the village in the morning and start the journey to go to work.
Two Trees Sports College has closed. The school is soon to be demolished. Whilst residents accept there will be some development within the footprint of the school buildings, they are desperately worried that there are plans to redevelop the school fields. This is not what was promised when the school closed. We were given cast iron promises that the green space would be preserved for future generations.
Our small village cannot function with this amount of infill development; there is no alternative access that could be used. The amount of congestion any large development would undoubtedly cause will destroy our peaceful community. There are more than enough brown field sites in Denton without building on open green land which should be used for recreational & environmental purposes.
