Children’s beauty pageant are wrong - and Sea World has no business supporting an event that compares and judges little girls, telling some they are not good enough.

Sea World is a kids entertainment venue. It is a fantastic, frivolous and carefree zone where children come to do two things - have fun and just be kids! There is no room for judgment or rivalry.

I’m the mum of a 6 year old girl. I believe my daughter is talented, smart and beautiful. Every mother and father I know thinks this of their child, and so they should. It is my hope that Indie Rose will grow up knowing that we all come in different shapes and sizes. I would like her to be comfortable in her own skin and accept everyone, especially their differences.

I despise the American style children’s beauty pageants where children are covered in make-up, made to look like dolls and compared to other children based on superficial criteria. This process is comparable to the judgment of pigs at a country fair and can leave children psychologically damaged and scarred.

I was so shocked and upset to find out that Sea World is hosting one of these horrible pageants next week.

I have started a petition to Sea World asking that they ban this pageant, and not allow any others.
