Joel Manby and SeaWorld Executives: Attend The Birth Of Takara's Calf

0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!

With the recent announcement that the birth of Takara's calf at SeaWorld San Antonio will be the last killer whale born at SeaWorld, I believe that CEO Joel Manby, Chairman of the Board David F. D’Alessandro, and the rest of SeaWorld's board of directors and corporate executives should personally attend the birth of Takara's calf with their families. Before terminating SeaWorld's landmark killer whale breeding program and taking this source of joy, education, and inspiration away from the world, they should at least take the time to see first hand what it is all about. If they have children or grandchildren, they should watch their reactions to this miracle, and ask themselves if they are then willing to deny this experience to future generations. And they should personally look at the amount of data that has been collected over the years through the breeding program, and determine if they want to be the ones responsible for ending this research.

Many SeaWorld fans and employees believe Joel Manby and his fellow executives lack a personal connection to the company and its work, and are unqualified to make decisions that are zoological in nature. Being present for this momentous
occasion would demonstrate they are as willing to listen to their dedicated and
highly trained employees as they are to SeaWorld's obsessive and often
ill-informed critics.
