Remove the Confederate Monument in Capitol Hill's Lake View Cemetery
0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,500!
Seattle's Lake View Cemetery in North Capitol Hill is the resting place for our city's founders, celebrities, and historic figures. It is also the location of a monument to the Confederate South erected by Chapter 885 of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Our neighborhoods stand for progressive values, inclusiveness, and these values extend to our shared public spaces. This monument is a physical representation of White Supremacy that does not represent the values of Capitol Hill, nor greater Seattle. Please sign this position to demand Seattle City Council pass legislation removing the statue from the cemetery immediately, holding a special session during August recess if necessary.
