In light of S.J.Res.34, which rolls back privacy protections of ISP users enacted during the previous administration, it's clear that local government jurisdictions should step in and restore these protections at the local level. In the case of Seattle, cable franchisees should at least adhere to the same the same level of protection that we will be losing under this law, and possibly be held to even higher standards. The State of Washington should ensure these protections with Telco's at the state level. The State, County, and City can and should protect our privacy when the federal government refuses to.
