Kyle Myers started this petition to Searchlight

Searchlight was recently rejected funding for a roughly two million dollar fitness center. Searchlight has the ability to possibly obtain a lot cheaper recreation project.  A dog park is on the cheaper side on the grand scale of possible recreation projects. An average dog park with a five foot fence on a one acre lot is about $30,000. The size of available space mapped out on the Searchlight Rex Bell Jr. Trail Park Master Plan's "Future improvements Proposed Site" could range from 0.30 acres to 0.50 acres. Which should put the cost significantly down in theory, as the average $30,000 estimate is on one acre of land.

There are many great reasons for going to a dog park.

Everyone seems to be busier than ever. With so many tasks at home and at work, it can be difficult to find time to just relax and enjoy life.

Dog owners tend to get along with other dog owners most of the time. You are bound to meet some new friends if you go to a dog park.

Going to the dog park can be a great way to bring physical activity back into your life. Make sure  you are running and playing with your dog when you go to the park so that you can get some exercise, too.

Taking your family with you to the dog park can be a great bonding experience for everyone. Everyone creates memories that last a lifetime when we spend time with the people we love most.

A dog park is a great place to train your dog.

Being out in nature has a way of relaxing your brain and keeping you happy. The more time you spend outside, the more vitamins you can receive from the sun. Going to the dog park will make you a happier and healthier person overall.

So I am putting this petition together to show local and county officials alike that there is support for a dog park here in Searchlight.

Thank you very much for your consideration.
