No safety for Grab drivers.Grab must enforce passenger details registration immediately.

This petition made change with 100 supporters!

The recent gruesome murder of a fellow driver, 27 year old Aiman Nosri has shocked Malaysia's e-hailing industry and drivers as well. With investigations ongoing, GRAB Malaysia has released a statement sympathizing the incident and cooperating with the Malaysia Law Enforcement on ways of ensuring driver's safety.

We, the Malaysian Indian E-hailing Drivers on behalf of all our brothers and sisters would like to strongly convey our dissatisfaction with the current registration process for passengers. The current registration process and passenger's application profile description has many weaknesses and are often misused by passengers. These passenger registration process loopholes should be identified and improved to curb misuse. A vast majority of passengers tend to commute in "disguise". Fake names and fake profiles can easily be created, which in a way makes it easier to commit an offence.

As much as passengers want to know the details of the drivers ferrying them, we too have the rights to know who we are ferrying as well. This murder is not an isolated act of violence on a Grab driver, various robberies, muggings and harassment cases are rampantly occurring to those who are on the road daily to earn a living.

We hope that with this petition, GRAB Malaysia would seriously look into the enforcement of detailed passenger registration requirement and at the same time take further security measures in ensuring that driver's safety is not compromised. As partners of GRAB, we will strive to provide the best services to our passengers to ensure that they have a pleasant and safe journey and likewise we too would like to have a sense of security whilst ferrying passengers.
