Nuclear takes years to bring on line at astronomical costs, especially compared to renewable sustainable forms of energy like wind and solar; the nuclear fuel cycle creates a vast amount of greenhouse gases and long-lived highly toxic wastes.
The lies perpetrated by the industry have completely brainwashed the populace for decades. Nuclear plants have frequent shutdowns due to accidents. Nuclear is the least safe; least cheap; and least reliable form of energy; and is completely the wrong path for Canada. we must stop investing public monies on this form of energy and instead look toward the future of wind and solar, geothermal and other sustainable renewable energies.

New Nuclear is not a path to net zero.
It is not proven to be economical, and more important in addition, there is a related and as yet not solved almost anywhere the handling of its waste, particularly its long lived radioactive isotopes for centuries for example. Now is not the time to even consider this distraction, waste of time and money, where proven alternatives are available which are more reliable, safe and lower in cost today.

I do not want the government of Canada to invest our tax money on a technology that is too slow and too expensive to make a positive difference to the climate while producing the most deadly industrial waste materials every produced.

The costs and delays of nuclear power plants continue to rise, while the costs of solar and wind continue to fall. Canada needs to investing in cheaper and more reliable green technology rather than aging and dangerous nuclear technology.

I live in Toronto, not Tchad, and because I am convinced that nuclear is a mistake, costs us more because of subsidies to nuclear industries - and then leaves us with spent radioactive waste
