We ought to be investing in humane ways to deter sharks, ways that harm neither sharks or any other wildlife. Nets, drum lines and guns are all not only ineffective, but heinously sadistic. We can be better than this and deal with this in a civilised and humane manner.
And PS, to the heartless people in the NSW Coalition government, if you care so much about tourism, how about stopping deforestation so you don't make our national icon extinct? That's not going down well with international audiences and they will withdraw their tourism dollars because of your callous and short-sighted actions with our forests. Fix that instead of butchering our marine life essential for the ecosystem if you want to shore up tourism. Morons. This mow-down-everything-that-lives approach the NSW government has is abhorrent. This is the most heartless, self-interested state government NSW has ever had.
