Cannock has decided that all paper and cardboard should now be put in a blue bag rather than the blue wheelie bin which is to be used solely for cans and bottles. In a recent pole I have received many responses showing concern for the ability of the elderly and physically impaired residents to carry, and store, the bag. Also, with the amount of packaging used by online suppliers the bag will be too small and a larger bag too heavy to carry.  If residents put paper or cardboard in the blue bin the council will not empty it. For many paper and cardboard are the major items to dispose of, not cans and bottles so the blue bin will be fairly empty.  This system has been tried, and scrapped, before. The only reason for the change is for the recycling company to make more profit,  not to help residents. The system needs reverting to the previous system.
