I live in Enfield and I have done all my life. I frequently travel to Southgate for my work traffic was always free flowing and rarely did I ever have to queue in this area. Sometimes at the roundabout but other then that was free flowing. Since Enfield council have introduced the “Quieter Neighbourhoods” which is essentially a LTN it has been utter chaos and traffic has increased 10 fold!. This is clearly in order to be green but quiet too well let me tell you Enfield council most residents don’t want it!.

The area I used to flow freely through I often sit in traffic in the same spot for at least 5-10 minutes. I had to take my mum somewhere and because all the roads where closed off that had been added without knowledge I had to essentially drive longer and almost round in a circle which meant my journey time longer then sat in a queue of traffic too the result not lower emissions but more emissions! which goes against one of the main reasons for them in the first place. 

If there is an emergency and roads closed off people could lose their lives as they may not be attended to in the relevant time (ok the pressure on the NHS makes this a reality to some degree anyway) however why make it more difficult for people to have access to the emergency services they may need. Shopping deliveries they may need have to go a longer way round to get to the intended destination. 

I find it counter productive and a complete waste of money, this money could be better spent on getting the infrastructure in place for people to make the switch to electric cars!. Surely this plan would be greener and more effective money spent. Electric cars are also very quiet so then it fits in to your quiet neighbourhoods too. There are other ways to address speeding with speed humps etc consider this if it really is an issue in that area ask the people who live there to find out.

I think it needs to be reviewed and scrapped as it’s not fit for its intended purpose and I think alternatives to what your trying to achieve should be considered!.

I think this should also be considered across the UK not just Enfield.
