Imagine what would have happened if Telfords A & E Department had already been downgraded, to a watered down Part Time A & E closing at 10:00pm & reopening at 6:00am & then along came the Pandemic, how many more deaths of Telford Residents would there have been, just look at the Chaos of what has happened at the Princess Royal Hospital & the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital during this Pandemic, as they have both struggled to deal with Covid-19 & the backlog of patients & their ailments, look at the Chaos of the Ambulances Services as they struggled with demand, How can SATH still go ahead with their disastrous Future Fit Plans, when Covid-19 has changed the Landscape, both Telford & Shrewsbury need fully functioning Full Time A & E Departments serving the Residents of Shropshire & it is about time the Welsh Assembly put their hands in their pockets & built a fully functioning A & E Department for Mid Wales & stopped depending on Shrewsbury. SCRAP FUTURE FIT NOW & Stop treating the residents of Telford as 2nd Class Citizens, We deserve better, we need to secure £1 billion investment for a single-site super-hospital, a world-class hospital fairly located between Telford and Shrewsbury which will serve this county for a generation to come.” We should be bold, as a county and as a borough, working together cross-party, cross-council and cross-constituency to put a very clear offer to the Government about securing £1 billion investment for a single-site super-hospital.
