Keep music, art, gym, and library alive in the Scranton School District

Recently, the superintendent of the Scranton School District announced her plan to cut ALL music, art, gym and library programs from elementary schools and home-ec, shop and library science at the high school level. As a community and citizens of Scranton, we need to fight this proposal and do what’s right for the future of the students. The budget problem should not be dropped on the backs of students. Children in elementary school need the arts to become diverse and successful individuals. Cutting these programs will not only hurt elementary school students, but high school students who aspire to have futures in those subject areas. This is not fair to those students who look forward to the arts for a break in their school day and for those who use the arts as an escape from reality to find themselves.
Sign this petition to act against this proposal to cut the arts from our elementary schools!
