Recently it was announced that GCSE and A levels will not take place due to outbreak of covid-19. Scotland should follow suit and cancel/post-pone all SQA examinations. 227 people have already been confirmed to have covid-19, and over 2,626 in the whole of the UK. This figure is steadily rising and will only get worse. It is time to take action now and keep the students in Scotland safe. This is an unknown situation for everyone but particularly for Scottish students who have to worry about their health, keeping themselves isolated and worrying about maintaining grades. SQA highers and advanced highers are necessary for many pupils around Scotland who hope to go onto university or college next year. How are Scottish students expected to submit course work, sit exams and achieve grades if they are sick, showing symptoms or have family members that are also in this situation?

Now is the time to lift this weight off the shoulders of anxious Scottish students. The Scottish government are slacking behind the rest of the UK and leaving their students in the dark about their future.

Stopping/Postponing all SQA exams is a fundamental step in securing the health of Scotland's younger generations!
