Sepsis in Scotand. Scottish government should reverse their decision to raise awareness!

There are many people who have died unecessarily as a result of the medical profession not taking the diagnosis of sepsis seriously enough, and by not treating it immediately with antibiotics to stop it spreading. The very unwelcome news that the Scottish Government has just announced that a campaign to raise awareness of sepsis has been rejected is not acceptable. In their announcement they said that a public awareness campaign is not necessary at this time, after previously saying it WAS "appropriate". Quoting from the BBC News, "the estimated figures for sepsis suggest that 44,000 people a year are dying from this condition and Scottish Government quotes a figure of 3500, as a proportion of this mortality". There are many examples in the BBC news item headed "Sepsis decision putting lives at risk"
