With the vast majority of UK residents, including Scottish citizens, in lockdown due to corona virus and no time limit committed to an immediate impact is people will use more energy during this difficult time.

Its therefore encumbent on governments to ensure there is no profiteering due to the situation and that citizens are protected against hardship, in particular children and the elderly.

Energy bills are a major worry at this time particularly as its an expense hard to avoid and what is used during these times will be included in any assessment by the companies of future bills.

Whilst it is appreciated that energy companies will try and assist the most vulnerable there is little or no compulsion to do so and particularly in these circumstances.

Solution. This petition is calling on the UK and Scottish Goverment to cap energy bills at customers pre-covid period monthly use until such time as the Government lifts the lockdown.
