Petition update

Petition closing morning of Friday 12 October

Jane Cooper
Orkney, SCT, United Kingdom

Oct 11, 2018 —

The petition will be closing tomorrow morning so the comments can be printed out to be given to Orkney's MSP Liam McArthur at a meeting about the abattoir on Friday afternoon.

We hope all your comments will help in the campaign to get the Scottish Government and the relevant Scottish Island Councils to recognise that island abattoirs are an essential part of island economies.  They should be funded as essential public infrastructure since they bring economic & other benefits & public good for the islands through crofting, farming, tourism, cultural heritage, preserving Scotland's rare & native livestock breeds, & more, that far exceed the level of financial support needed.

Thank you very much to everyone who has taken the time to leave a comment as well as signing the petition.  Please keep spreading the word so we can get as many comments as possible over the last 24 hours.
