We need to protect green spaces, not build on them, although I am always keen to see new sports and leisure facilities built. Why not build a dedicated swimming pool and leisure complex in the town too, but not on green parkland.

There's already a lack of parkland in Galashiels without taking more

It's a super asset to the town, too have this massive green space. Build the new school on the site of the old and leave the park as it is, please.

Im signing because I grew up spending all my time in the park, its a treasure which was for the good of the people of Gala.
To the Council, do your job properly and stop stealing land which is not yours.

We’ve come to understand how important green spaces are over this past year. And there are other options which would infringe less on the park.

This park is a beautiful quiet picturesque place to relax, read, watch children playing, walk our pets or watch the world go by. Please don't destroy this much needed and loved park.

In my parents' childhood, 5 year olds could safely dance and play on the road during rush hour. Now, with traffic, children are practically housebound. For health we need more safe, local green spaces not fewer. For the natural environment likewise.
