Izabel Mar for the Stage Manager Role in Our Town
Izabel Mar for the Stage Manager Role in Our Town
I think I, Izabel Mar, should be cast as the Stage Manager in Our Town instead of Dustin Hoffman. Why? First of all, I am half-Asian. Call it reparations. Two, I am 22 years old and identify as female. A hot, new, fresh take on a dated show. Three, I have a resume that is on its way to rivaling Dustin Hoffman’s. I have been acting since I was 10 and I have been in over 50 shows. You can peruse my resume at izabelmar.com. Four, I’m awesome and I think I should have the opportunity to start my Broadway career right after the pandemic because we should continue to open doors and get people in the room.
A thought that is only mostly related; nepotism is no longer an ethical option for the arts. Nepotism continues to open doors for people who do not respect other people (Ansel Elgort, Kevin Spacey, Harvey Weinstein) and I do respect people. My entire goal with my career is to create healthier and safer creative environments. On top of acting, I’m an intimacy coordinator. I would also take a job as an intimacy coordinator in the Our Town rehearsal room.
For legal reasons, this is mostly a joke. I super love and respect Dustin Hoffman and his career. Big fan of Kramer vs Kramer and The Graduate.
