Rob Wells started this petition to Scott Morrison (Prime Minister of Australia) and

This is the link to the Federal government assistance package that will fund the Adelaide Crows plans to build new facilities and headquarters in the city, which will be on public land. This may be viewed as a measure aimed at the "community", but overall it is a measure driven by those within the Adelaide Crows who for some reason have in the past boasted on just how many supporters they have.

When CEO Andrew Fagan was faced with questions over battlelines drawn between both SA AFL clubs, whereby Port Adelaide had surpassed the Crows in terms of financial members, Fagan would stand before media and proudly proclaim his club had over 600,000 fans across the state. They also seem to have suggested they have over 80,000 financial members. This football club was the brainchild of the SANFL, and born out of a courtroom injunction to prevent Port Adelaide Football Club from obtaining the first AFL licence.

This club was AGAINST the development of Adelaide Oval and the move there. They were backed(well pretty well are the SANFL's puppeteers), into staying at what was formerly known as Football Park or AAMI stadium. The previous Labor government in SA, in conjunction with the AFL were in favour of the move to Adelaide Oval, something that was also a passion of the Port Adelaide Football Club who were based there in the 70's, and played grand finals there.

For their move there, the Adelaide Crows under former CEO Steven Trigg said they would hope they would be well compensated as they had just built a multi million dollar facility down at West Lakes. The clubs intial attitude towards moving into the city was negative, and years later they have been on the hunt for somewhere to build a facility for fans to return too after games at Adelaide Oval.

As a concerned citizen and taxpayer, to build such facilities in parkland area would not face that much opposition if it were focused on the GENERAL population, but it will be draped in Adelaide Crows colours, with signage and other various themes that will show it to be nothing more than Adelaide Crows clubrooms. What will be the impact to the environment and birdlife in those parklands, considering this was something raised in the East Parklands when there was a proposal to build a permanent racetrack. How can you have "temporary" faciltiies in one area of Parklands in the city centre, but build a permanent one on pristine parkland area elsewhere? There should not under any circumstances be Licenced facilties for a start, as the community who live in the area do not want rowdy drunken people leaving such premises, nor do they wish for there to be congestion in the area by way of traffic late at night. Was this matter thoroughly played out in full view of local residents and VOTERS by way of parliament, or is this a behind the scenes deal with golden handshakes? We are aware of the previous Crows directors and administrators  underhand dealings by way of the AFL draft, so this raises to me the question of whether or not a leopard has changed it's spots?.

At the end of the day, AUSTRAL:IAN TAXPAYERS across the country should not be paying money out of their hard earned wages to fund a single football club that should appeal to their own fans first and start a go fund me page to come up with the money. The so called Pride of South Australia seems to have gone down on it's knees and grovelled to get money to build itself a new home, or at least one that is an upgrade from a Stratco shed down at West Lakes. What has been overlooked in making this decision by the Federal government is the lack of research that has gone into things, a blatant disregard for public opinion and local residents. It also does not factor in that since 1990 when the Adelaide Crows was formed and played at the then Football Park, based on them being an SANFL created franchise, they had FREE use of the oval for all their games, whereby the other SA AFL side had to pay $2 million dollars a year as part of an agreement it play 11 home games a year there, with full control of its licence under the leadership of the SANFL. That club ended up with financial difficulty yet without having to pay rent, maybe they would never had found it necessary to have borrowed money to get out of debt. My question is with a saving of $2 million dollars a year by the Adelaide Football Club, why would such a club require such money when they have been flush with money all along. Maybe the executive branch of their club and SANFL directors should focus on the huge salaries they are on, along with those who were quick to take up roles with the Adelaide Oval SMA, are also paid far too much.

From allowing FREE entry into a taxpayer funded oval for their women's grand final, to now building them a FREE new headquarters, along with training facilities down at Thebarton Oval for their women's team, would it not be feasible to re-locate the whole club to Thebarton Oval instead, considering it was the SANFL who took over things there after the financial issues the West Torrens Football Club had. Have we also overlooked the vast amounts of debt the SANFL has had over the years as it's competition has sunk due to it's idea of forming the Adelaide Crows to start with, and any money that goes it's way is mere tokenism.

Will the Federal government afford the same luxury if the other AFL club that plays in the city wishes to find a new home there as well? And when it's womens team is up and running, find them a home as well?

This is a disgrace and every taxpayer in South Australia and across the nation should ensure those who made these decisions be held accountable at the ballot box, unless the decision is reversed, funding withdrawn and the Adelaide Football Club pay it's own way. Especially when those within it are people well above the poverty line on 6 figure sums per year.

Just remember, if their CEO says they have 600,000 fans across the state, then start rattling those tins instead of sucking on the public purse like Vultures to appease your own personal interests, that being so you have a new fancy home where you can all go after matches and blow hot air up your arses sipping on Jacob's Creek, nibbling on your pate' and cucumber sandwiches.

THIS MUST STOP NOW!!!

I appeal to every taxpayer, from all warps of life, along with every other AFL club and it's members that are not afforded the same luxury, to sign this petition and bring those responsible to account!
