Scott Morrison released a statement a few hours ago, "Australia is not the United States". I'd say the 400+ deaths in custody of Indigenous Australians as a result of the failures of our legal system beg to differ. Today, we reach out to Australia's PM, Scott Morrison, and we ask him to think what he can do to make Australia a fairer and more equal place. We demand a new Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody, as well as increased training for Police officers and Prison Guards in the way they handle Indigenous Australians. We also want to see action taken so that the Northern Territory has no Indigenous children or teenagers serving sentences.
