Houses prices have increased of course Council increase rates accordungly Self funded retirees income is reduced and will be further reduced if Labor wins as they will take away Franking credit
SFR paid taxes and saved not to be a burden on the Government Taxes were much higher then Baby boomers started to receive superannuation contributions late in life so they saved very hard
SFR do not receive a pension and many have lost it due to change of Assets tests
SFR should be looked after by receiving same concessions in rates as pensioners The income could be mean tested and SFR who receive a taxable income as pensioners or less should be able to claim these concessiond
Introduce this before election
I am a SFR with a low taxable income but cannot get a pension due to a holiday home that we bought over 30 years to enjoy our week ends etc
