The discussion around changing Australia Day has been discussed at length. Many find the current date of January 26 culturally insensitive and with good reason. 

Let’s make it the day where we come together as a nation for no other reason than to celebrate our successes and display our desire to strive as one for the future.

The date needs to be changed! This permits Aboriginal people to mourn their loss, but also to celebrate the progress our country has made in unifying all Australians.
Changing the date of our current Australia day celebrations provides an outlet for all Australians to come together and rejoice for everything good about our nation whilst being respectful and helping to break down colonially embedded stigmas around Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
