Denver City Park: Off-Leash Dog Area
This petition had 215 supporters
The City of Denver is under served when it comes to Off-Leash Dog Parks. The goal is to find a suitable location for an Off-Leash Dog Park that will allow residents to walk their dogs from home and allow them to socialize with other dogs.
There was an Off-Leash Dog area at Josephine and Colfax that was an appropriate size, but it will be reduced to only a quarter acre when the Rec Center is complete. There is room in the South-West corner of City Park for an area that will be 2 acres or more! Cheesman and Congress Parks on the other hand are bordered by single family homes. This stretch of City Park only has businesses on the opposite side of Josephine.
The Proposal is for the City of Denver to grant a variance to the Historic City park and permit a dog park to be installed in the South-West Corner of the park. An off-leash dog park in this location will also help the city move towards accomplishing the Master Plan put in place in 2010.
If you support the addition of a dog park to our wonderful neighborhood, please sign the petition!
Signing only indicates support of an Off-Leash Dog Park. The logistics will be worked out after support is obtained.
