***THIS PETITION IS ONLY FOR CITIZENS OF SCIOTO COUNTY OHIO. IF YOU DO NOT LIVE HERE, YOUR SIGNATURE WILL NOT COUNT.***

We need a total of ( to be decided) signatures from Citizens in SCIOTO County, Ohio that want to make SCIOTO County a 2nd Amendment sanctuary county. Once we have those signatures, we take them and the resolution and present it to the SCIOTO County Prosecutor as well as the SCIOTO County Sheriff. We then present it to the SCIOTO County Board of Commissioners.

WHEREAS, The Second Amendment to The Constitution of The United States clearly states "a well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" it is imperative that this protection is preserved. 

Whereas, "shall not be infringed"  can only be understood to demonstrate that government has no right to lessen or curtail this right in any manner , we must reject all efforts at infringement. 

Whereas, The Ohio Constitution embodies similar protections with The United  States Constitution we call upon all those in government positions to fully honor their oath to protect and defend The Constitution of The United States from all enemies both foreign and domestic. 

It is for the preservation of the rights of The People that we seek second amendment sanctuary status for Scioto County.
