Theresa Williams started this petition to Schools

Our goal with this petition is to get more teachers in schools to teach about other cultures more often. In my school, we were only taught about black history during Black History Month, and even then it was only about Dr. Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks. This is not enough. What about Harriet Tubman? Ella Baker? Frederick Douglass? Stokely Carmichael? Most of these names I personally have not heard while being taught about black history in school. This is a problem. There needs to be a change. The problem is that there isn’t much we can do about it. But I hope that this petition will get people’s attention so maybe our children and grandchildren will be able to learn more about other cultures and the history of them.
