Many kids think that homework is a big time waster, and it is. Kids need to spend time with their family and friends without having the need to stress about homework. Many people can have sleep deprivation as a side effect from too much homework from school and some could also have thoughts about ending their life because of the anxiety that homework causes. Homework also harms us because it takes our social life away ranging from normal social media like Instagram to the real life and conversations with friends. Like I said earlier, homework can lead to suicidal thoughts, and some kids may actually follow through with the idea. This is already a big problem in America and even the rest of the world today. If we could get rid of homework, then we could also see a huge decline in suicide rates. If you say, "I don't care about children's social lives or their mental sanity", then you are a terrible person. I know as a fact that everyone that is normal will back me up on that. Basically, that is what modern school systems are leaning towards right now. Some people look on the bright side of homework. They say that it helps you remember things that you learned in class. This is also true. My solution is to make homework only an optional part of the day. Kids should have the freedom to do what they want without being held back by the weight of homework papers.
