The class of 2020  has worked hard all year and for our exams to be cancelled due to a spread that isn’t our fault is unjust. The may/June exams should continue and go forward as we have no definitive date to when we’re back at school and cancelling our exams that we’ve all worked hard for and reducing our summer and leaving us with millions of questions and what ifs is wrong.

If our exams are pushed until September our college sixth uni places are ruined and ‘making sure we get the right qualifications’ isn’t right we deserve to sit an exam for all our chosen and core GCSE subjects like everyone else did before us. Being given our predicted or mock grades isn’t fair as for many of us we have improved and changed since our December/January mocks and we deserve to show not only the schools and future employers this change but to ourselves as well.

For most of us our longest exam is 2hours and 15minutes sitting in an exam hall filled with children who The prime minister has even said that we’re not vulnerable and aren’t easily impacted by COVID-19 so sitting in an exam hall and then returning home won’t further spread the virus.

This virus is ruining our future, ruining our education and ruining our lives. This measure to close schools is necessary but cancelling exams and ruining our futures and potential is unjust and wrong and we deserve the same rights and system everyone else had.

Giving us all unnecessary stress and fear is wrong and immoral. These exams should continue as they’ve been scheduled and if you agree please sign this petition for the continuation of GCSE’s and A-levels.
