To School Administrators, School Board Members, All Educators, and All School Staff in Bedford County:

Since we first encountered the challenges of COVID-19, our world has had much to learn during unprecedented situations for modern times. Thank you for all the efforts you have made to respond to these ever-evolving challenges that require new ways of thinking and problem-solving to address the educational and social-emotional needs of our children and the health of our communities.

We support your adoption of practices that are mandated and recommended by our identified health experts via information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the PA Department of Health, and the PA Department of Education. We recognize that not everyone can agree on the recommendations and mandates, but erring on the side of caution and making our best attempt to ensure in-person learning is the best our schools and communities can do at this time.

We also believe in the ability of our children, families, and communities to continue to be resilient as they work together to get through these difficult times. We ask that you help lead the way as your public duties require. The more our community of adults can work together peacefully through these challenges, the more we can help our children grow into the successful, compassionate adults we know they can be.
