Children are the future of our society. We need to on bettering the education these kids are partaking in. Science shows that kids struggle more in the U.S than any other country. We’re not going to ignore science, we need to make a change. Adolescents are notorious for not getting enough sleep. The average amount of sleep that teenagers get is between 6 and 7 ¼ hours. However, they need between 9 and 9 ½ hours (studies show that most teenagers need exactly 9 ¼ hours of sleep). These teenagers are expected to work 8 hours per day without getting near enough sleep. If we try and change the times students’ as a whole have to go to school, we believe to see changes in grades and behavior around the U.S. Getting a “good nights sleep” is very important to young teenagers, as their brain isn’t fully developed. We suggest starting school activities around  9AM and ending around 4:30PM. Sure, people will argue that this is less school time, but studies show, when your more focused and prepared it is easier to take information in and remember. Giving students time to get in a healthy breakfast is very important as well. When getting a full 9 hour sleep and waking up happy, motivated and energized, really makes a difference on your work ethic. Each signature counts. Thank You.
