I have a really big problem with school dress codes becuase ive been dress coded and forced to change because my shoulders were showing while one of my guy friends were able to wear the same thing and not get in trouble and now my friends are getting dress coded and ive always stood at you can mess with me but never my friends. The school dress codes are sexist and sexulising teen girls, and the creepy part about it is theres a rule stating you cant have your bra straps showing and only the male teachers enforce the rule, us girls cant control the fact that we have to wear bras. In fact some schools enforce wearing bras but will get mad if the straps are showing even if its just a little coming from the side of your t-shirt. My firends cant even go to a school dance with thier shoulders showing anymore becuase of this dress code. We cant wear clothes that will help us stay cool in the summer without a teacher saying something about it.
