At KGC, the dress code is something they take too seriously. They try to restrict us from wearing Black colored jeans because of their denim material. I do not agree with this unfair policy as well as all the other students at KIPP Generations Collegiate. Administration has to take time out of their day that can be contributed to better benefit the school in multiple ways, instead they have to go around the school checking student for the type of material their jeans are. Not only is this unnecessary because we are still dressed casually and school appropriate but it takes time out of our education. We have to be pulled out of class which takes from 10-15 minutes of our education to be addressed about the type of material our jeans are. I write this argument to speak up for everyone else who believes in how bad this policy is. All we ask for is to be heard and understood, allow us to wear black denim jeans or ignore the issue about the material of our pants and respect that we are still in dress code uniform.
