Friday, February 1st, 2013 A 16 year old sophomore & honor roll student in Florida was brutally attacked on the school bus on her way home from school! Nobody tried to stop the attack from happening & when the attack was over, the bus driver continued to drive.
He did not stop to make sure the girl was okay, nor did he stop to report the attack to his dispatch, the school or the local authorities. Upon further researching, I have found of dozen stories of kids being attacked on their school bus & each story has the same theme, the bus driver did nothing.
When you put your child on a school bus, you expect that adult to keep them safe! While there might not always be time for the driver to stop & intervene, there should be a REQUIREMENT for them to stop the bus immediately, check the welfare of the child, call paramedics if need be & then REPORT THE CRIME! A physical attack is called battery, it is a crime, even if being done by a school aged child. These crimes should be reported immediately to the school & the authorities. If these crimes are required to be reported, these attacks may stop on the school bus!
