Every morning and every evening i see kids cross that dangerous big intersection and its a big concern that i feel like no one is paying attention to the safety of our children. I have witnessed multiple children almost get hit for not knowing a car was turning. For the sake of our kids and others we need to put a crossing guard there! I have noticed since school has started that not one person has been there to lead these kids and its getting frustrating. The walk/dont walk light doesnt even work so how do the kids even know when it is safe to cross!? The school has grades kindergarten through 8th and i have 2 of my own that go to blankenburg and they have crossing guards at every corner and intersection BUT THE MAIN ONE THAT IS WITHIN 500 FEET DOES NOT HAVE A CROSSING GUARD. Lets make a difference and get our kids to cross that intersection without them having to fear if they will get hit by a car. I have contacted the 16th district just to be told that there is no one to put out there! Not even a cop cares for our kids! We are going to be sure that these kids get to school and back home safe and sound and every parent who cannot drop or pick up their child knows that their kids are safely crossing the street. FIX THE LIGHT AND GET A CROSSING GUARD!
