The current administration at district 47 is refusing to review whether Donn Mendoza is an appropriate appointment to the Role of Superintendent of the district. Numerous parents and administrators have expressed feelings that he behaves aggressively and is inadequately responding to the needs of parents and educational professionals in the district. There has been an additional incident that resulted in an “admonishment” by the district. The incident involves possible drunk driving and children’s care and it is believed that it is pertinent to his very public role as the leader for our district.
At approximately 2:30 A.M. September 9, 2012 Don Mendoza was engaged by police after neighbors reported a suspicious vehicle. The officer reported he found Mendoza sitting in the back of his vehicle seven houses from his home, and smelling of alcohol and appearing intoxicated. The officer further stated that Donn Mendoza appeared excited and had a hard time standing still.
The officer also reported that upon ringing the doorbell at the reported Mendoza residence that a teenage girl answered the door and stated she was babysitting.
The explanation given for afformented situation is not succinct with the evidence presented even in the lack of a breathalyzer test.
The Police officer involved in the aforementioned incident was suspended. It has since been stipulated but not confirmed that the officer had a relationship with Mendoza.
Numerous parents have relayed a perceived aggressive attitude on the part of Don Mendoza when he is engaged.
Numerous teachers and D47 staff have indicated a desire for Don Mendoza’s removal.
Don Mendoza has reportedly publicly ridiculed parents and other educational professionals.
