ATAR Korean Subject by 2018

Currently there are 345 students studying the Korean language in Perth, Western Australia. Korean is the second most popular language to study in the University of Western Australia (UWA).
As a Year 11 Certificate Course Student we do not have the option to further our studies by entering an The Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) course for studying Korean at school. Languages receive a 10% bonus added to the final ATAR score.
Other languages such as French, Italian and Chinese are recognised as an ATAR subject yet Korean is not despite the close relations that Australia as a country has with South Korea with sectors such as trade for example. With these relations, future pathways and job opportunities can be achieved when studying Korean.
Korean language as a subject is a popular subject with the rise of the Hallyu Wave, however SCSA fails to recognise this.
Please sign this petition in order for my class as well as future Korean students to have an opportunity to study this language as a recognised ATAR course.
