At CUHS there is a dress code that prohibits Women or feminine students from wearing certain clothing. The dress code  basically talks about how shoulders, lower back, upper back, not too much leg, cleavage, stomach and no bra straps etc. can be exposed. While the rest of the dresscode talks about how students aren’t allowed to wear violent, vulgar or obscene clothing. So no shirts with inappropriate language, drawing etc. (Follow HerBody01 on IG for the dress code.) Of course to a certain extent some clothing should not be aloud but this dress code is clearly pointed towards Women or feminine students. HerBody01 is aiming to change the dress code from targeting us! Why is drug and gang violence even on the same topic as human anatomy? Because of unfortunate circumstances people choose to do drugs and join gangs, while in no way is human anatomy an unfortunate circumstance! My body is not an unfortunate circumstance! Why is this even being compared to Drugs and Gang violence in the first place? We are born with bodies.

Another reason we want to change the dress code is becuase there are plenty student who go all day without getting dress coded. We have about 6 classes a day and student go all day without getting dress coded which is great! But then theres other students who cant even get to their 2nd period without getting dress coded, is this a favoritism thing, a race thing or a size thing? Bigger students get dress coded? Or only the people who meet the standards for having  Beautiful bodies dont get dress coded. 

In addition we also feel that the fact that they want us to change our clothes in schools or not wear certain things is really unfair. Theres already SO MUCH that a woman cannot do, and then for Corning Union Highschool to try and control what we put on OUR bodies we feel like this violates.
