7% of high school athletes make it to the next level. With a rate so low, EVERY athlete that commits to a college to play a sport should be celebrated. As of right now, at least at Delran High School, the only athletes that are even acknowledged for moving on to the next level are D1 and D2 athletes. The recruiting process is both expensive and tough, and every college athlete should be honored by the school in which they attended and were brought up through. It’s not only appreciation for the athlete but an appreciation for where they came from. Parents also have as much satisfaction as the athlete because they finally know that all of the hard work they put in for us has paid off. D1, D2, D3, Juco, or wherever, WE ARE ALL ATHLETES and we should be APPRECIATED for what we have been able to accomplish. Sign if you agree!
