Rainier Beach High School Renovation

Rainier Beach High School is in need of a full renovation of our building. The task of completing a renovation on our campus was put off for several years and needs to be dealt with now!

The district added a performing arts center, library and sports field to a building constructed in the 1960's. The existing structure is dilapidated with old/exposed piping, water pollution, backed up sewage, rodents, asbestos flooring/piping and other potential hazards the District tried to cover up with paint. We are the only high school (out of 10 high schools) that did not receive a full renovation and excluded from the Building Excellence Levy (BEX Levy). Unfortunately, Rainier Beach High School was scheduled for a renovation in 2017 but was taken off the the list only for the funds to be reallocated to another school. That is inequitable distribution of funds.

Please stand with us in our fight to revitalize our school and add a valuable amenity to our neighborhood. We believe a renovation to our campus is a vital addition that will allow our academic, performing/visual arts and athletic programs to reach it's full potential.

We would like to challenge our School Board to show their pride and commitment to Rainier Beach High School and its community.
