West Allegheny is threatening to cut the art program within the next two years. The decision to cut this program will affect hundreds of students. West Allegheny Superintendent John DiSanti
I just signed the following petition addressed to: West Allegheny School District.

----------------
Please, Do Not Shut Down the Arts Program!

West Allegheny is threatening to cut the art program within the next two years. The decision to cut this program will affect a countless number of students. The art program at West Allegheny Senior High School and teachers like Ms. DeWitt have positively affected the lives of hundreds, probably thousands, of students.

Cutting art programs will not be the answer to current budget problems, as a matter of fact, it will NEVER be the answer. We need to let, you, the West Allegheny School District, know that we will not tolerate this decision or any other decision that involves removing art programs from the school district.

Art is often the only reason some students go to school, students need this creative outlet in order survive the angst of teenage life. The West Allegheny art program has produced art teachers, professional artists, jewelry designers and graphic designers just to name a few.

We are asking you to please not cut such an important and life-changing program out of our schools.

Sincerely,
