More security in public schools

Due to the Parkland shooting and others prior, it is clear that schools aren't that secure for children and kids. There needs to be more security, and high qualified individuals that can guard the school while they learn. Not just normal securities that are unqualified and most are over 60 years old. These individuals are unable to help in case of such emergencies. For the sake of our children and safety in schools, we need armed professionals like retired military or police officers that can guard the schools from shooters and other kind of menace. In addition, police patrols while our children are at schools. Also, the school gates shall remain closed and more than one armed professional guarding the outside and inside. Our schools lack security, cameras are not safety. They can only count what happened but not prevent the damage that lack of security can bring. So please lets work together to bring more security to our children's schools.
From personal experience, while the after care office was unattended, someone took my daughter's card and tried to pick her up (an unknown man). Thank God that the after care teacher knows the people that can pick her up and they did not give my daughter to that man. When I called the police and waited there while the investigation occurred, they said that it was a harmless mistake which I did not believe. When I spoke to the after school principal and told them that they lack security there and what security measures they would now implement, she said and I quote, "It is the same security here, like in all other public school". My point is, we need more security, period!!!
