San Benito CISD School Board Majority Taking Us Backwards! Sign your name in agreement.
Over the recent months and since the last school board elections the San Benito CISD School Board of Trustees has made decisions that have led our community to question their ability to make appropriate, unbiased and competent decisions serving the interest of our students and our district. Instead, we have seen ample and absurd displays of selfish agendas driven by those in the majority and hurting all our students and staff and once more pushing a very competent and capable education leader to leave this school district- Dr. Nate Carman.
Dr. Nate Carman came to work in our district to help our community and to help SBCISD come back from a revolving door of previous superintendents who left to avoid getting involved or mixed in the bad politics of the school board at that time. Our district suffered significantly with that instability which caused the focus on the students to derail and our budget to plummet.
Our school board has once again become highly questionable as to their real motives and interests for serving our district. We have a superintendent who is very competent, qualified, and has demonstrated can lead us in the positive transformation of our district and who is now being pushed-out for the same reasons others were- a school board majority playing political games affecting our students and destabilizing our district once more.
We must speak up now and louder than ever to get our message across to those in elected positions who abuse their power and use their positions solely to serve personal agendas and not the good of the whole. Based on the school board’s recent display of blatant incompetence to lead and serve our community responsibly we ask for a fair and transparent process in the selection of our new Superintendent and if warranted an investigation by the Texas Education Agency and the Texas Attorney General, as we do not trust this school board to make objective decisions on issues that affect the education, safety, and wellness of our students and employees and the spending of our tax dollars.
